Our Team
We have over 45 members in our Crookwell IGA team ranging from school kids in their teens to grandparents in their 60s. We are the largest private-industry employer in the shire.
Some of our staff have been with us since our inception 17 years ago and others are just starting a career or learning the ropes as a junior shop assistant.
We have always been told that its our staff that make the business so successful and that customers love coming into our store. We realise and understand that the role of our staff is wide and varied but most importantly they can and do play an important role in the lives of our customers.
Our Departments
Fruit and Vegetables
It’s the fresh produce that brings customers into our store and keeps them coming back. Harris Farm Markets are the providers of our produce and refrigerated trucks bring the produce fresh from the markets to Crookwell up to 3 times a week. Our team members are continually quality checking our displays to make sure customers are always getting the best produce possible. Our team starts early before the shop opens and are still working in the produce area after it closes each night. We take great delight in making eye catching displays and all our team know how to build an apple pyramid, cut and trim every different type of fruit and display fresh produce so that its quality and freshness shine through.

Deli
Probably the most eye catching displays in the shop take place in our deli. Our deli staff work consistently and constantly to refill and replenish our deli. Our slicers are working all day and you will be amazed to watch the skills that our deli team members possess. If they are not slicing, dicing, cooking chickens or coming up with hot food offers they are probably making coffees or making sure the deli is meets the high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene that is required.

Dairy
It’s the area in the shop that grabs most peoples attention. Our team members are continually rotating stock and bringing out more dairy and frozen lines from the 4 cool-rooms out the back. It’s a big job (and a cold one) but our Dairy team members thrive in making the area an interesting and appealing for all shoppers. Keeping on top of all the gourmet cheeses is challenging but our dairy team is up to it.

Bakery
We are a previous winner of the “Best IGA Bakery in Australia” which says everything about our in-store bakery. Our bakery staff start baking well before the shop opens and as the bakery is within the confines of the shop , you can watch and certainly smell the huge array of products being baked. Whether its sourdough bread, hot cross buns or crusty rolls you can be guaranteed they are fresh and taste great.
Liquor
Our liquor shop is state of the art and brand new. We knew it would be successful in its new area but we are constantly surprised with its popularity. We thought we would try boutique beers and locally made wines and increase our supplies of spirits and customer responses have been amazing. We trade under the IGA liquor banner and the specials that our buying team get are hard to beat.

Registers
Our register team members will greet you with a smile and if you are a regular then rest assured they will greet you by name. If you are a visitor to our region then hopefully we will leave a happy long lasting impression on you. Apart from their friendly service our aim is to get you through the checkout quickly as we realise no-one wants to wait too long in a checkout queue.

Online
Our new online platform is now operational and has involved a mountain of work from our team to get it up and running. Our team is determined to provide this extra service and to make it user friendly and to meet the needs of the modern shopper.
